I expect this hotel would have been good had the booking I made been honoured. However I received a call on the morning of 6 April from your company to say you had over-booked Gloucester Place Hotel and that we should stay at The Gresham in Sussex Gardens instead. I was told everything would be the same. Being an understanding person I accepted this change cheerfully. However I was disappointed to be further distance from Oxford Street, given a cigarette smoke smelling room with dirty stained covers on the beds. This was almost tolerable but the next morning while we were looking forward to an English Breakfast, as I had especially located Gloucester Place Hotel for this option, I was astonished to find there was only Continental Breakfast available at the Gresham. I want to be offered the opportunity to stay at Gloucester Place Hotel for free on another occasion in compensation for the inconvenience caused by your company error.

a decent location and ok for a group of mates for a week end in london but not one to take your nearest and dearest to. Very much a case of you get what you pay for, but at least the staff seem eager to please.

A very basic hotel, which was clean but disappointing, the rooms were old fashioned and many faults including tiles missing in the bathroom, the TV didnt work properly and dont mention the purple bed covers! The staff were friendly and helpful, but will we return, I think not. Thank goodness for Discount City Hotels, if I had paid the £175 which was the rate stated in reception I would have been really narked!

Needing to find a centrally located hotel I plumped for the Gloucester Place Hotel for value as much for location. Overall I was quite happy with my stay but a little more attention to maintenance could be made. No pug in the hand basic, broken shower control, falling down shower curtain etc... Also my room was a double - I undertood that to include a double bed - not two singles pushed together !!! Perhaps a little more attantion as previously stated !!

The room I had - a double was really only a single The bed was comfortable and the linen clean and fresh the shower room - shall we say - could have done with some refreshment The window did not open, but that did not matter as the heating went off at night the curtain did not cover the window which was rather annoying as I was directly over the breakfast room which had bright lights on The breakfast was adequate for London the staff were lovely - friendly and helpful Overall, a little investment could make this into a really pleasant place to stay. for the money I received reasonably good value, but do not think I shall venture there again

Relatively good hotel at reasonable price, good location. The room where I stayed (family room) needs to be refurbished (plaster falling from the ceiling, old painting, chest of drowers with knobs missing, etc.)

my only complaint, the bathroom facilities had seen better days, but the overall room for my self and family was acceptable given the location i considered it value for money

This hotel was in a perfect location of us. Close to Oxford St and near Baker St Tube as we were going to Wembley Arena for a concert. The room was big, had a fridge and fan which we needed. The bed was a bit uncomfortable and the bathroom a bit dingy but hey, the location made up for the bad points. We were expecting a continental breakfast but had full english which was a bonus.
