Palmers Lodge Description:
Palmers Lodge is a unique new central London hostel. Located near Swiss Cottage tube station this Victorian grade II listed building, former home of Samuel Palmer of the Huntley and Palmers Biscuit Empire, has received a substantial refurbishment to restore it to original condition and to offer the international traveler all the facilities expected at the very best hostels in London.
However, because there are so many hostels in London we don't just rely on our building:

Mixed Dorms:
At Palmers Lodge they know that when travelling with your partner, you would rather spend the night with them than have to sleep in separate dorm rooms.
That’s why they have introduced DOUBLE beds in their 9-bed and 12-bed mixed dorms. Couples can enjoy the budget price but also share a bed in the same room - NOT a bunk but a DOUBLE bed.
Even better, all their Double beds are equipped with privacy curtains, their own lights and power sockets. All beds also have under bed lockers and the 12 bed mixed dorm (introduced because the 9 bed dorm proved to be so popular) also has plenty of extra, imaginative, storage space.
When booking these rooms please remember that you only need to book 1 "guest" for each double bed - therefore if you are a couple and want to share a bed simply book 1 guest.
Mixed Dorms for singles:
Palmers lodge know that not every guy and girl travelling together is a couple. They may not want to share a bed but still want to stay in the same room. That’s why they also have 4-bed and 5-bed mixed dorms equipped with SINGLE beds. You can still stay with your friends, even if they are not the same sex.

- By Underground:
Swiss Cottage Tube: Leave Swiss Cottage tube (Jubilee Line) using exit 2 to Eton Avenue. At the top of the stairs turn left and, facing the main road, walk round to the right up College Crescent. Palmers Lodge is located 100 yards up on the left at 40 College Crescent.
Finchley Road Tube: From Finchley Road tube (Jubilee & Metropolitan lines) cross the road to the HSBC bank and walk to your right towards Swiss Cottage. About 150 yards up turn left (between the North Star Pub and the BP garage) and walk up College Crescent. Palmers Lodge will appear on your right at the junction.
- By Road:
College Crescent is off the Finchley Road (A41) in Swiss Cottage. If you are driving into London the best route to take would be to join the A41 from North London via the M25, M1, A1 or A406 North Circular. Once on the A41 follow it to Swiss Cottage and, just after you pass Finchley Road tube station (which would be on your right), turn left into College Crescent.
Parking is available at the hostel but please advise us when you make your booking that a space will be required.
- From the Airports:
Heathrow: There are many ways into London from the airport. The most expensive way is to get a taxi, next the Heathrow Express (but probably the quickest). Many people take the tube whilst the cheapest option is to get the bus. Choose the method that suits your budget and then join the London Underground network to get to either Swiss Cottage or Finchley Road tube stations.
Stansted: From Stansted you can catch the Stansted Express into Liverpool Street. However the cheaper and more convenient option is to catch the National Express (www.nationalexpress.co.uk) A6 service which will drop you off at Finchley Road tube station. From the station follow the directions as above.
Luton: From Luton you can catch the train into Kings Cross/St Pancras. However the cheaper and more convenient option is to catch the Greenline (www.greenline.co.uk) 757 service which will drop you off at Finchley Road tube station. From the station follow the directions as above.
Important:Palmers Lodge is strictly for 18’s and over. If you are travelling with minor’s you must contact reception before you make your booking, as under 18’s are not allowed in the dorm rooms. |

Cancellation Policy: |
CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENT POLICY
The cancellation and amendment deadline is for 3 working days (monday to friday) prior to the arrival date by mid-day (12:00) London time. This cancellation policy will also be stated on the confirmation. All cancellations and amendments/alterations should be made in writing by fax or by e-mail. Enquiries about cancellations and amendments can be made on the phone first but must be followed by a written confirmation by fax or by e-mail. Any reservation cancelled more than 3 working days prior to the arrival date by mid-day (12:00) London time, will incur only a £25 (GBP) processing fee. This amount will be deducted from the refund issued the same day of the cancellation and a confirmation of the cancellation will be forwarded to the guests. Please note that all refunds will also incur a 5% (of the total amount originally paid) credit card handling fee charge.
Any reservation amended (amendments include modifying the arrival date and adding or reducing the number of apartments or nights) more than 3 working days prior to the arrival date by mid-day (12:00) London time, will incur only a GBP 25 (GBP) processing fee. This amount will be deducted from any refund issued or added to any extra charge made the same day of the amendment and a confirmation of the amendment will be forwarded to the guests. Please note that all refunds will also incur a 5 percent (of the total amount originally paid) credit card handling fee charge.Please note that although the length of stay can be extended, there will be no obligation from the property to allocate the same apartment or to apply the same rate.If the duration of the reserved stay is to be shortened, then the applicable tariff for that shorter duration will come into force. Please note that a change of rate for a shortened or lengthened stay will be applied retrospectively: the new rate will be effective from the original date of arrival. Any reservation made or arriving within 3 working days prior to arrival will be non-refundable and non-exchangeable. All reservations made and not used (non-arrival / double bookings) without the reservations being amended or cancelled prior to arrival will also incur a full charge. Clients are responsible for contacting London-Hotels-Bookings directly for any amendment or cancellation and as advised above any change or cancellation will only be actioned when a request in writing is received. Any amendment or cancellation made directly with the property will not be considered valid. Any request to cancel or amend a reservation cannot be considered complete until you receive our confirmation. Until you do your booking will still be considered valid as originally made so please ensure you contact us if you do not receive a confirmation of your cancellation/amendment within 1 hour of your initial written request if made during normal business working hours, or within 1 hour of our opening times if your initial request is made overnight or at weekend.
LATE CANCELLATION/NO SHOW POLICY
For a cancellation notified at any time after mid-day (12:00) 3 working days (monday to friday) prior to the arrival date or for a 'no show', London-Hotels-Bookings will retain an amount as follows: for stays of under 7 nights, the value of one night's stay; for stays of between 7 nights to 27 nights, the value of three nights' stay; and for stays of more than 28 nights, the value of seven nights' stay.
The above amount will be deducted from the refund issued. Please note that all refunds will also incur a 5% (of the total amount originally paid) credit card handling fee charge. MODIFICATION TO A RESERVATION, OR TO THE DURATION OF STAY, AFTER ARRIVAL
After arrival any modification to the length of stay will be subject to a £25 (GBP) processing fee if the length of stay is being reduced. If the duration of the reserved stay is to be shortened, the applicable tariff for that shorter duration will come into force and both the new rate and processing fee will be taken into account before any refund is made. Please note that all refunds will also incur a 5% (of the total amount originally paid) credit card handling fee charge. If the duration of the reserved stay is to be extended (subject to availability of course), there will be no obligation from the property to allocate the same apartment or to apply the same rate.
